Happy Christmas!

So where did December go?

24 days ago I was prepping to celebrate Peter's birthday and pow.... the holiday season has been upon us, Christmas Day has been and gone, and here we are!

So what's been happening? Well, my man had a good birthday and I managed to find a suitable present, and we celebrated over the first week of December, catching up with friends along the way.

Planning for the Christmas holiday (as we are both off work between Christmas and New Year) was fairly low key, and very stress free. Gifts bought and sorted (even at the last minute) proved to be hassle free, as did picking up the meat from the butcher, and the various staples needed to see us through ( as we worked on the principle that the shops will only be closed for one day only - honest, 1 day)

We also worked out Christmas gifts for each other, before hand (I know, no surprise, but honestly, we have been together for 18+ years now..)
We still have a couple of gifts to give people that we haven't managed to catch up with, but all in all it has been a fairly quiet affair, and to be honest, it has been lovely, despite the weather's best efforts to make it feel very un-christmasssy (it's a positively balmy 8 degrees outside)

We are both looking to catch up with more friends throughout the week, and over New Year's Eve, but to be frank, for the first time ever, I cannot wait to see the back end of this year.

I can't begin to reflect on what has gone on this year, not only to us, and our friends and families, because in the overall picture, there are many many people much worse off than us. We still have our homes, health, families, friends, and the options to directly change our situations if we choose too.

So, for now, this is my last post for 2011. I hope to see you all at the back end of the New Year Celebrations. I hope too, that my enthusiasm returns so I can keep this more up to date and also get outside more with the camera, but for now,

Love and best wishes for the forthcoming year, and positive thoughts xxx
